I keep getting a pop up that's telling me that my computer is infected with adware and spyware and that the only way to get rid of it is to download this AntiVermins software. I also have this little flashing icon on my toolbar that looks like an alert sign (it's a yellow triangle with an exlamation mark on it), and when I click on it it opens up this window: http://www.antivermins.com/?aff=11018.
I just downloaded Spybot and cleaned out all the adware and spyware on my computer, but I am still getting these pop ups...is this a legitimate program or a virus?? And if it is a virus or adware, how do i get rid of it?? it's annoying me :(

While trying to watch a music video, I inadvertantly downloaded some evil program that has added itself to my registry and redirects my internet-- sometimes to graphic sites that don't belong on my families computer. It's maddening! They pop up constantly, despite massive virus protection and firewalls. To have someone come out will cost over $100.00. I know I can do it myself, I just need someone to tell me how! I can't decipher what or where it is in the registry. Please help! Thanks for reading...

I work in a library and have eight computers. We had a computer guy that worked on them and when he quit he took all the passwords with him. So now all you can get to is the limited accounts and I need to get into the administrator account so I can set new passwords. Is there a way you can hack so to speak into the admin account with a limited account. I tried command prompt but in order to use that you must be an administrator. How can I get to the admin account without a password?

Statements and such. he came up asking weird questions recently about my bank. I have never talked to him about that stuff. he said "do you have a computer? I love the computer" and a bunch of other wierd stuff. Then he was asking me about my political affilliations. i keep up on issues..."Who are you gonna vote for" with this smartass smirk on his face. I barely know the guy and he knocks on the door out of the blue for a "chat".

Then, I got a message from my computer telling me there "was one or more networks available" and there was my normal network with another totally different name

I removed the second one from my list.

Is there any other precaution and can I tell if he's been doing this.

If he's up to this he's a real moron, because he really tipped his hand

I opened 6881-6883 ports on my router (firewall) and also port 44850 (UDP).

Should I be worried that other people can get in to my pc through these ports which are opened to allow bittorrent access. Are these open ports like a big obvious inviting way in to my pc for any malicious hacker type person ?

"Shields Up" confirms these ports are open.

I recently uninstalled zone alarm cause i've got a router firewall... would it be worthwhile reinstalling it to help stop anyone getting in if they can get in my open ports ?

Thanks if you can help. :)

ok, on saturday, march 3rd, i was browsing the internet, i was watching a "video" and it said that it was not compatible with Windows Media Player, i should have been suspicious then, but i downloaded it anyway.

next thing i know the little bar in the lower right corner starts giving warning signals that say things like
"Sytem Alert! Malware has been detected!"
"High Risk!: Trojan Horse virus detected!"
Please, please tell me how i can get rid of this, i have tried everything, and no, i was stupid enough to not have a anti-virus program, except for Norton Antivirus, please, i need emergency help in getting rid of this!! please, i have learned my error in going to those "videos" and i need some really bad help in fixing my computer, i do not want to send it in for repairs unless i have to.
I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, everytime Nortonantivirus starts, the virus shuts it down.
