zone alarm and avg are free to use.Download.com is a great site to find free downloads.

You can use Housecall or any other internet virus detector, or if you have a virus protector on your pc just run it. DO you have a firewall? I would buy one or download one if I were you. You can go to Download.com and download a free trial of a virus protector and firewall. I would download the free adware program and run that at least once a week

Never click OK on a popup. Just hit the X in the top right corner.

IF You've got SpyWare. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

if your antivirus software is up to date, it should tell you. Also if you notice weird things happening, like your computer freezing up, pop ups all the time, computer getting real slow even if just one program is running, you have a good chance of either a virus or spyware.

Buy and anti-virus program with the latest (updated daily) database of viruses.

The anti-virus program will tell you for sure.
