my Symantec Anti Virus 9, Corp editn never start scan?

i am running symantec av on my computer, when i click to start scan it return message "could not start scan. scan engine returned error 0x20000058." and never start scanning. at the same it detects a Trojan Horse "MDM.exe" in C:windows folder. i've removed the auto quarantine file but the scan never works. even i re installed and rebooted.

Try scanning with a different Antivirus software. Something online like http://housecall.trendmicro.com there may be something else that is preventign Symantec from running correctly.
