Norton Internet Security is a great program and Norton gives good support too......remove the program and try to reinstall it and that should solve the problem....and if it doesn't then call them and they are really good at troubleshooting.......
Then don't switch to any other mediocre programs ....just think if yahoo uses Norton to scan emails then it cannot be bad at it right.
I have used Norton for years and i have never ever felt a need for a second software...and i am actively on line the whole day...
After you reinstall do register with them and before you uninstal the existing Norton check if you have the serial # etc if you don't find it on the CD copy it before uninstalling.

Personally, I'd get rid of Norton and download the AVG anti-virus program (free version) and use that. But, assuming you want to stay with Norton, first boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as the pc starts up. Once in Safe Mode, then run your anti-virus program. That should allow the scan to go through the entire hard drive contents. Hope this helps.

Like all the others, I'm going to tell you to uninstall Norton and get either Avast Home or AVG 7.5. Both are free and both are 100% better than Norton, who hasn't had an upgrade in 5 years!

Make certain you are not connected to the internet at the time then disable your firewall, and virus scan.

Norton Anti-Virus is what you have right? well if so...get rid of it...it does not help you one bit...AVG 7.5 and higher is the best you can have....it detects problems and heals them and it a lot faster then any other anti-virus protection...!!
