It seems someone told that there is restriction of reinstallation of a computer. I thought that I can reinstall my computer as many times as I require. But one of the yahoo answers say that there is restriction. If it is true, can anybody give me the detail.

After i did the new install it was fine till the next day, i only installed programs i knew there were no problems with. When i try to get into the recovery on the win xp disc it only gets so far then turns off, have tried a virus scan but it only gets so far. Other times it will stay on for over an hour with no problem, any ideas please.

I recently installed the 32-bit version of openSUSE on a AMD Sempron 3600+. Before bothering installing the 64-bit version in stead I'm thinking about running a few tests to rerun on the 64-bit install and then compare the systems.

Just about the only idea I have is compressing and uncompressing very large amounts of data and time it. Any other suggestions? Windows has plenty of geeky software for this type of thing, but how about a Linux thing? Preferably with a neat RPM.

It must be easy to use, reliable and relatively inexpensive.

I have an older camera phone that no longer has service but it has several photos I'd like to transfer to my computer. If I had service i could just email them to myself, but I dont have service anymore. Is there a cable i can hook up between the phone and computer's usb port? The phone is an Audiovox brand and computer uses vista home premium.

I have the Gateway GM5474 http://www.gateway.com/retail/gm5474.php which comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chipset and NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT (with 256MB onboard memory) graphics card. Is it possible for me to upgrade to a GeForce 8800. If so, would it be necessary to change the power supply?

I'm trying to upgrade my pc's hdd so I've taken the hdd out of the machine & installed it in another pc together with a larger hdd to copy onto. During copying I get this error message " cannot create or replace system volume information: access denied, make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. Neither of points relates to me as I am using windows from from neither of the 2 hdds I've installed into the new machine. Tee new hdd has been formatted and is twice the size of the one I'm trying to copy. Can any body help! I thought this method would be easier methodinstead of installing xp on the new hdd then copying file accross.

But some things I've read here have made me wondered if it is possible for yahoo monitors to have access to their users' accounts or if it is possible for them to know how many accounts each person has...

I also associated to this the fact that in the McCann's case, the police had reportedly disclosed the content of some of their e-mails... (I don't know if this is true, though...)

Well, I think since a computer is unbeatable in chess and at the same a computer could memorize every single book written by human hand...then could this logic and memory be "unified" so that the computer will think like a human being?

As a software developer I am 100% sure this is possible. The question is when???

I can give you one kinda interesting example :):

My fother who died of cancer several years ago...told me once:
"When I was young as you, I thought that watching movies on computer is science fiction...",
I wish some day I will have similar thoughts, but:
"When I was young, I though that a computer cannot be smarter than human and find cure against cancer..." :)- the difference is that I actually believe a computer can do it, some day.
