I have the Gateway GM5474 http://www.gateway.com/retail/gm5474.php which comes with the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chipset and NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT (with 256MB onboard memory) graphics card. Is it possible for me to upgrade to a GeForce 8800. If so, would it be necessary to change the power supply?

Basically, you remove the 8500GT and put the 8800 in its place, so yes, you do have a PCI-E x 1 slot (currently in use by the 8500GT)

The specs doesn't say what the rating for your power supply is. I doubt it'll be better than a 350W, which is NOT recommended for a 8800. You'll have to open it up and look inside.

Only depends if you have a PCI-e or PCI slot available and in most cases no change of power supply is required.
