I cant get my schoolwork done! I log online, check my email, check myspace, check perez, check yahoo, check facebook, read the newspaper, look at craigslist, then by the time i have to go to class, i haven't got my work done.....

when i phoned my provider nearly a year ago to tell them that i had not recieved a bill for some time they told me that they are not the provider anymore,so basically,i'm getting it free,both internet and phone line,but what i want to know is i want to get a laptop aswell,but how do i go about setting it up as i have no idea who is my provider,phoned other companies but they said that they don't have me on record,totaly confused.

Im buying a wireless router for virgin cable broadband.
Some wirelss routers says they are ASDL, others says they work for both ASDL and cable. Does it matter which one i get to plug into my modem?

I bought a brand new laptop from Currys on Saturday but when i got it home i discovered that it had been used already!! As it is a 60 mile round trip to get there i was very angry about this!!The computer also contains details of the 12 year old girl who used to own it. It has all her personal details including address, phone number, email, bebo, her school and it has photos on it. I'm bringing it back later & am going to complain but not sure what to say. Can i demand money off a new one? Also what about the fact i will have had to drive a total of 120 miles!!! What would i be entitled too & also what laws have they broke by selling me a laptop with the girls details on it? they're bound to have broken the data protection act!! Should i contact her parents to let them know what has happened as anybody at all could have got hold of it!!

Well today I went to Big Lots and bought myself a $15 Web Cam (the only one they had) and the Check out lady said she had one and it worked well. So I took it home and put in the disk and installed everything the way they said, and then I plugged the cord into the spot on back of computer (just like picture in manual) and plugged in the headset. Well then I decided to try out the software that was just installed to make a video but it said somethin like "Cannot connect to video" But it does record the sound. Grrr. So I went back to the Big Lots and asked if I could exchange it to try out another one in case it was damaged and so got home went through whole process and same things happening!! GRRR! Well just wondering if anyone here has gotten this web cam or knows more about computer than I do and can help me out. Thanks in advance.

I have the Samsung T629 slider phone from T-mobile and I recently bought a Kingston Micro SD memory card so that I could use my phone as an MP3 and put some songs onto it. I used the adaptor so that I could put the memory card into the computer. It came up in the D Drive saying that the memory card was inserted but when i tried to drag songs from ITunes that i had bought into the memory card it said "cannot copy song onto disk- the disk is write-protected." and sometimes it says "cannot copy song onto disk, the disk is not ready"... What? does that mean that i got a defective memory card? ughh its making me soo mad too because its not like these memory cards were cheap.

How can one find the traces of porno if it has been viewed on the computer? For instance where exactly is the temp internet file that stores images? I know not to check the history, if my husband is looking at it he's smart enough to erase it. I need some hidden area where it could be stored. Can anyone help me?

Oh and btw...don't tell me any of the following because I don't want to hear it.

I got a huge file of 700+megas transfered, only to find out when I tried to open that there was an error downloading codec. This is for an .avi extension file.

Is this problem repairable or is this an original encription problem?

I put some back-up files on a CDRW. Now, when I want to edit some of them, I get this error msg saying the disk is write-protected. What can I do to access and/or delete some of these files?
