I put some back-up files on a CDRW. Now, when I want to edit some of them, I get this error msg saying the disk is write-protected. What can I do to access and/or delete some of these files?

While a CD-RW can be used in a way that makes it re-writable, it has to go through a formatting process and use special software to use the re-write feature. If you did not go through the format process (which takes about 40 minutes per CD) then you are using it as a CD-R rather then a CD-RW. That makes it "read only" and the write protection can not be removed.

You will need to get another CD-RW and properly format it. Then copy the files to the new CD-RW and then you will be able to write to them.

Note that a CD-RW that is formatted for re-writing loses some of his storage space. The computer needs some of it to perform the re-write process. So a format CD-RW will only hold about 530mb of data instead of the usual 700mb of a CD-R.

You can not EDIT a CDRW, you must copy the all files to the C: drive of your computer, edit them and then reburn the the ENTIRE CDRW.
