problem with the Kingston Micro SD memory card on my Samsung phone?

I have the Samsung T629 slider phone from T-mobile and I recently bought a Kingston Micro SD memory card so that I could use my phone as an MP3 and put some songs onto it. I used the adaptor so that I could put the memory card into the computer. It came up in the D Drive saying that the memory card was inserted but when i tried to drag songs from ITunes that i had bought into the memory card it said "cannot copy song onto disk- the disk is write-protected." and sometimes it says "cannot copy song onto disk, the disk is not ready"... What? does that mean that i got a defective memory card? ughh its making me soo mad too because its not like these memory cards were cheap.

when i right click and hit 'format' an error box comes up saying that the disk is write-protected. so i cant even format it?

Right click on the memory card and choose format. Once the card is formatted, you can put tunes on it.

right click on the drive and format it so it completly sets the memory card to blank, but copy all the files on it to like the desktop first then go for it.
