Yes. You would have to have a satellite dish and a clear view to the satellite of your ISP. I travel all over the U.S. in a Motor Home and take a tripod mounted Hughesnet dish with me. It takes about 20 min (1 hour on a bad hair day) to set it up and I have the same internet service I have at home which is where the permanent dish is installed. From the Virgin Islands you could probably get the Hughes service as well as some of the other satellite ISPs as well.

The Virgin Islands probably have a few Wifi spots, because of all the millionaire homes, etc. But anyway...some computers support cards that let you connect to a satellite worldwide to access the internet. The most popular provider of this service is Sprint.

no prob easy. Its gonna cost you but you can get sattelite internet from many phone companies like verizon etc and as long as there is coverage you can get internet.
One problem though, you see service providers dont really try to give customers coverage on deserted islands they try to get the max population densitiy they can.
There is another way i can think of.. It will cost you about $2000 you get this nice big backpack that well to put it simply hijacks the sattelite signals of the big companies and gives you internet. If your on a deserted island i would check the laws :D
Other than these 2 possibilities only one more exist "YOU ARE IN AN EPISODE OF LOST" :D

You would have to have Electricity first like Solar Panels connected to Batteries or perhaps a small windmill attached to a Bicycle Dynamo.I suppose you would have to get an O2 Plug in Card Account you Know like an U.S.B thingy or the same type of thing from Vodaphone ,I think they also use a Satellite like for Mobile Phones.

I'm sure it's pretty prevelant in the resort areas.
In the remote areas, you will have to have satellte access. Maybe wimax soon.

yes, via Satellite.
Just need basic telephone coverage to upload information and an ISP willing to point a satellite in your direction.

Some satalitte companies offer DSL over satalitte. It uses your satalitte dish and your phone line to bring you internet that is faster then dial up.
