Are they trying to guess my password? Is this a form of "phishing"? And if so, how do they know they've guessed my password?

I have file extension problems on downloaded videos from youtube
I get the download link from keepvid then copy the generated URL onto freshview download manager.
It is automatically placed on my desktop
but it doesn't play using an flv player.
when i right-clicked for the properties
the file type is "FILE"
did a search for .flv files on my drive and the results were that is no .flv files detected.
how do i know what kind of file it is?
it plays using VLC but some of the vids stop in the middle of playing.

I just recently bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT to replace my old camera. Today when I tried to load pictures onto my computer (for the first time), it instantly downloaded all the stuff needed to do it. But, then it didn't give me the option to upload my photos. So, I turned off the camera, unplugged it, plugged it back in, turned it back on, and still, nothing.

My other Canon camera would instantly have a pop up box that would give me the option to save the pictures to My Documents, or take them to photoshop.

What can I do?

btw, the cords I am using to hook up my camera to my computer are the ones that came with the camera. I didn't buy them seperately or anything like that.

When I turn my computer I go ahead and put my password to operate it.... The window for "aol" comes up, After that it seems to be asking for my password for my "aol" account about 3 times before I can actually go online with "yahoo" I have to keep pushing "Cancel" then close the "aol" Sign icon, then I get to "yahoo" Then the little password fill in blank comes on one more time... Anyone know what's happening here..?? I appreciate the advice... Thank You..!!

My pc keeps rebooting. I first thought it was my cooler, my cpu temperature was at a 60 degrees celsius most of the time, i dusted that and now it's at 50-55 that's about 130 F. So it's not a heat problem. Then i thought it was my RAM, i thought my RAM had bad sectors because my pc kept on restarting after using DC++ for a period of time, DC++ hogs up a lot of memory so that's why i thought it was my RAM.

I stoped using Dc++ and it still kept on restarting. i looked at my watch and noticed that it rebooted at 4:13 am and the next one was at 5:13 am so i'm guiessing that it does this every 60 minutes.

This lead me to believe that a malicious program is doing this. I have scanned my pc with Kaspersky and found nothing, my antivirus is up to date.

I have thought up everything i knew and came up with no results, i'm hoping that you may help me here.

As soon as I turn my computer on, this page now appears (it never did this before). For completeness, I am including everything on the page:

American Megatrends Released 05/15/02
AMBIOS (c) 2001 American Megatrends, Inc.
P4VMM2 Release 05/15/2002

Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU, 2 GHz
DEL: Setup F8: Boot Menu F12: Network Boot

Pri Slave- Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace

Press F1 to Resume

(c) American Megatrends, Inc.,
62-0515-0011331-00101111-040201-VIA_P6-P4VMM2

The computer completely stops here until I hit the F1 key, and then Windows XP Pro, which I am running, starts up as it always has, and runs pretty normally. But this looks like a BIOS problem to me, not a Windows problem. Can you explain to me what is going on and what might have caused it, tell me whether or not I might be facing a total computer catastrophe, and advise me what, if anything, I can or should do about it. Thank you very much for any information you can offer.
