My PC starts out working so slow, then after awhile, it picks up speed. I replaced my router, due to another issue, defragged the system, cleared the temp. files and cookies and it is still dragging. I also contacted the internet provider to do an online check of the system and they find nothing. Any ideas why it starts out slow then speeds up?

My hard drive is getting pretty filled with useless things...previous installed folders and files thats been deleated, unallocated files, etc...I was just wondering how I could clear all these useless things out? Thanks

I have a limited or no connection on my other computer. I checked the modem and the internet's working for my sister;s computer, but for the ethernet, it isn't and I can't connect. Dunno what to do, help please? I checked my adapter on my laptop and tried repairing the connection but it still says limited or no connection.

I want to watch a movie on my DVD player that i burned off the internet, and it will only work with MP3 format.

If i convert my movie to MP3 format, will I be able to watch and listen to my movie on my DVD player?

I have an image for disc 2 of computer game that is 6.07GB How do i compress the files in the image, to around 4.5GB to fit on a DVD-R? I want to keep the final output file some type image. This way I can either burn it to a 4.7GB DVD and and it will be like the original disc or so i can use my virual drive to "pretend" as if it were the original disc, whenever i put it in the drive. Basically i want to keep from buying a set of DL 8.5GB discs just for one file. Ive tried dumping the files into a win RAR file it only compressed the files to like 5.3 GB. I havent tried anything else beside this. any suggestions? thanks.

Ok. I wanted to ask you people if you know where i can find the file manager for windows xp!! can u help me? i take a computer literacy class at my school. its a good trade. today, about 10 minutes before the bell rang, my teacher said to me "how are you doing raffi?"
and i said "good" and he said "I got your email, it was something about file manager? try to look for it online" and so thats pretty much what he wants to do. hes a real nice teacher, his name is Mr Ramirez. but if you guy can help me find the file manager, if anybody helps me, i promise i will help them get the best answerrrr!!!

Hi guys,
so any time my computer wants to open quicktime, it wont. Also, any time i try to delete QT, it doesnt show up in my "add/delete programs," so i try to download it, but my computer then pops up with a window that says "you already have a newer version of QT installed on your computer"

is this a virus, or how can i fix this? i go to search on my computer, look for quicktime, and there's a whole bunch of files. i try to delete them, and some will delete and some wont.

p.s. explain in simple terms pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaase. computer illiterate when it comes to the technical stuff!

my computer has been lagging a bit recently. keyboard lags, minimizing and loading windows lags, MSN lags, clicking on links or buttons lags, icons on the toolbars of internet explorer lags, (lagging meaning nothing happens for a few seconds, then i get the hourglass for a few seconds).... i did a virus scan but it showed nothing. is it spyware? what are some of the common causes of slowing down? if i can fix it, what can i do?

what am I doing wrong? Windows was able to search for wireless connections within range, which was nice...because I could bum off others connections when I didn't have one available.
