How do I get instant messaging on yahoo?

All my friends have American online Instant Messaging, but my dad won't let me. I've heard you can get it on yahoo. How?

well you are on yahoo right now on the front page you would have seen a 'download messenger now' just press it and install

go to yahoo.com and then click somewhere it says IM or instant messaging and then you download it
