I have a laptop ( 256mb ram, 1.8 GHz, DVD drive ( not rewritable) ) and a friend gave me a DVD+RW with some files on it. I want to put the files on my desktop. The files are 350mb each. Every time i go to transfer the files, i see the progress bar and 20min it hasnt moved on that much and just seems to fail.
But i can play the files from the disc itself, but the stall after about 10min ( there avi files ).

I really want to transfer them onto the desktop, any help?

My hard drive had started to make strange sounds and I figured it was about to go but what happened was a total surprise. As expected , it crashed. When I tried to reboot,Ireceived an error message"can't load DOS.This was followed by "Invalid VDISK,and then invalid signiture. I assumed a punk hacker had sabotaged my hard drive and because I expected it to go , it was no big loss.Oddly enough,I tried installing XP Pro on seven different disks from seven different manufacturers with no success.These were my used hard drives,but usuable..I thought.Either DOS could not or would not load or installation would faulter from VDISK or signitures or some obscure driver.Suddenly my CD/DVD rom and Floppy drive failed to recognize certain disks and under no circunstance was I allowed to WIPE, reformat or partition any of my disks.I'm now using a back up system with,coincidentally,one of the same disks that were unsuccessful before.Motherboards with a virus ?George Bush ? Any help will be great ...

I get this error message during start up each time:

SmartBridge Alerts: MotiveSBexe - Entry Point Not Found.
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL.

I just click on "ok" and it goes away, no more problems. None of it sounds familiar to me as something I have tried to open or download. Please tell me how to get it to stop coming up.

I scanned about a dozen papers, saved the images in a folder, but need to know how to burn the folder onto a CD because I really don't want to have to print these all out! (Rather, I'd give the disc to someone who wants these and let HIM print 'em all out.)

I went in windows xp and made a backup on another disk on an external.I backed up my entire drive now if I get a viris how do I put it back ..After something happens like caching a viris becuase I will have to reformatt the drive to get rid of the viris.So I will not be able to use windows to put it back because it isnt there anymore. I basiclly i'm tired of spending all day and half the night reinstalling all my software every time I catch a viris wich is useually once a week.Help tired this.

over the holidays my nephews I suspect used my personal pc 2 access sites tht wouldnt open on hsehold pc the kids use located dwnstrs in game room that has parental cntrls on it. My pc has no restrictions or passwrd locked anythng on it, nvr needed it. hvnt been on pc all wk, turnd on this am & I cant open my cmptr prgrms. requesting entr name & passwrd 2 open windws. my computer screen seems all fuzzy and pixilated. a day ago it was very clear and crisp, so im guessing settings were changed. when i run a system restore the everything is back to normal, but i have programs on my computer i dont want and cannot remove.

I downloaded a movie, it contains 7 files (3 .VOB files, 2 .IFO files, and 2 .BUP files). My computer doesn't have a dvd rom drive or dvd writer. Is there any way to play the dvd files without them? What do I need? Will Daemon Tools (virtual drive)help? Please give specific and detailed instructions....I am a moron you see.

i need to download lg phone manager or some kind of software which allows me to successfully put music onto my phone, does any1 have any ideas. last time i installed lg phone manager does any1 kno where i could find a site for me to download it, and does any1 know how to install another driver, because i cant install anything for my fone without another driver. if ur able to solve this ill be ever so grateful!!!!!

How would i delete all the files on a cd, and then replace them with different files? The cd i have is kinda like an aol cd. The file system is cdfs, and i dont no wat to do to delete the original crap on the cd and replace them with things like movies, mp3's , and other data...
Can somone please tell me wat kind of software to use to remove these files because when i try to delete them it says that this i can not move files over to this cd rom and these files are read only.... can someone please help me cuz im pretty sure it can be done............... thnx.
