just downloaded a media file from a cousin in usa and it has arrived as a BIN file they say they cannot change it hoe can i open it ?????

Ok, I'm not completely illiterate when it comes to computers, but I'm in a bit of a bind here. At the school that I go to in my dorm room I have 2 ethernet jacks, however there are going to be three people using the ethernet jacks, my question is, is there an item on the market that will turn one of my ethernet jacks into two, similar to a power strip. I would need to know the name of the item and where I could buy such a thing (internet, amazon, bestbuy etc...) Any help that you could offer would be much appreciated.

is needed to open them no matter what i already have a password to the computer but i just don't want everyone that gets on the computer to be able to access everything i don't want to have to pay 4 this service does it already exsist if so how can i password protect certain links to thing one of the games is pretty violent

I just purchased a baxter external disk so I could put a lot of my pictures and things that take up space on my regular c hard disk. But I need to know how to transfer all my data off my windows xp home edition on to this disk also in case I have a problem and lose things that I do not want to install over and over. My laptop is bootining up slow,really slow;sometimes I have to restart and try it again,but when it does boot everything seems fine.The only exception is when It loads it pops up an error message saying Defender something something failed to load.Other than that everything is fine.
Any idea what's wrong with it and how to fix it?

I have a laptop. i have work related programs on it so i can't just take it to just anyone. the problem is i don't have a copy of the programs so i can't afford to lose them in the process. i am trying to find a way where i can copy my Win2000 harddrive and restore it on another (physical) harddrive that has Win98 and is going to be partitioned to the back section of the harddrive so i can keep both Win98 and Win2000. 2k won't run some of the programs that i have on my 98 and vice versa. i am tired of swapping harddrives as well as it sometimes is a pain because i have to handwrite some of the info from one program in 98/2000 and then from my notes build another template on another program in 98/2000. Any suggestions??????

I MESSED WITH THE SETTINGS SO MUCH THAT I CANT CONNECT. IT IS NOT THE WIRES. IT IS ALL CONNECTED CORRECTLY. I MESSED IT UP WHEN I WAS PUTTING MY ROUTER IN. IT DID WORK FOR ONE NIGHT BUT NOW I CANT CONNECT.

The path shows that they end up in a folder titled OLK85 under Temporary Internet Files on my C: drive, but when use explore to find them that folder is not there.

The computer is only 2yrs. old. I can still go into any other programs, but it wont open the internet.It Says,"HTTP 500 SERVER NOT FOUND. I took the internet modem off and tried it on my 10 yr.old computer, and it works perfect. I even cleaned for viruses with the AVG free anti-spyware and AVG anti-virus. WHat else can I do? I'm trying to create an order form template. I scanned the image of the order form onto my computer so that I can type in the information and print it onto the original form. Could some one please tell me how to make the scan invisable so that it doesn't print out along with the information. Also I don't want to delete the picture after I type the information because I need it as a guide, since I have to fill out about 10 of these forms.
