Please be specific, I'm computer-challenged. (I have a PC with Windows ME) I have programs that have been downloaded as well as the usual files and documents. When backing up, is there a way to lump it all together? Do all the files have to be saved one at a time? I have a CD burner and have burned photos to CDs before, but isnt' there some other way to save everything? I have heard of Cruzers also, but dont' get the purpose of them.

I have windows xp, plenty of harddrive space ( if that even matters) and a cable modem with the medium speed they offer. So why when I try to watch music videos does it continuously have to buffer and the videos dont play well at all?

my ex had a last desperate attempt 2 screw me ova n changed my password, so everytime i start it up i get nowhere, i tried recovering it from switch on menu but still asks 4 a password what can i do??? is there any software i can get or download ?? all answers appreciated ;)

When it starts loading Windows XP, even the blue bar loads in slo-mo, and it takes 5-10 minutes for the login screen to show up. Once I do get into Windows, everything is slow there as well. Same as if I load in Safe Mode. I've shut down from Windows after it loads (takes a long time), and done so in Safe Mode as well. I've left the computer off for a couple hours and tried again, and nothing changes.

I don't have any file-sharing programs, and I have both AVG Free and AdAware installed and running. I don't get any error messages or anything unusual other than the slow speed.

I've had the computer for a couple years now, and this is the only major problem I've had. I shut it down and power up all the time, but starting last night it is screwed up.

Any informed suggestions? (ie 'buy a new computer' doesnt help, but 'I know this problem, here is a link' does)

When I go on the internet and try to copy text, then I go to MS Word to paste, the option to paste is there, but as soon as I click on it, MS Word freezes up and then I have to alt+ctrl+del to exit out. It doesn't do this with all internet sites, only some and unfortunately the one I need to copy from. It's just regular text!!
Is there setting I need to enable or something?
I'm sure there are smart people here that could figure this out.

my 67 year old grandmother wants me to teach her how to work the windows computer my grandfather uses for work, because she figures that if we have so much fun with it, so can she.

what should i do? i love the woman to death, but (a) there's sort of a language barrier, and (b) i'm not sure what she'd want to do with it.

When a window pops up sometimes it doesn't have the explorer bar (back/forward arrow) on it......There is no option to put it on (when I right click not there to choose) I can however choose full screen and it pops up with the explorer bar and when minimized it stays. I don't want to have to go through that.
