Please be specific, I'm computer-challenged. (I have a PC with Windows ME) I have programs that have been downloaded as well as the usual files and documents. When backing up, is there a way to lump it all together? Do all the files have to be saved one at a time? I have a CD burner and have burned photos to CDs before, but isnt' there some other way to save everything? I have heard of Cruzers also, but dont' get the purpose of them.

USB flash drives are small (think keychain size) devices that contain up 4gigabytes of memory. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that WinMe supports them. (you could dig on Microsoft.com, but support for Me is pretty limited.)

There are programs (Acronis True Image, Symantec Ghost, etc) that back up everything, but they require WinXP (or Vista).

WinMe had a backup program (on the original CD), but I don't know anyting about it. Knowing Microsoft, it was probably pretty rudimentary.

You could back things up by burning the all of the files to CD. Two problems : 1) it'll probably take more than one CD and "splitting" can be difficult. 2) restoring the backup will be slow & difficult.

Sorry, but I can't see an easy solution for you.

you can always get a usb flash drive. they can store up to128 mb, 512 mb, or 1-2 gb. and they're a lot less bulky than cds. other than that, not really. i've never heard of cruzers.
