I want to grant access to my son to my desktop at home but only from 4 pm to 6 pm... please advice, the idea is prevent him from using the computer before 4 pm and log him out automatically by 6 pm

What you'll need is a computer childminding program - there are a lot out there, and they usually have a 15 / 30 day trial until you have to pay.
I would strongly advise NOT to get Vista until they've worked out a lot of the holes - give it a year at least. You're more than likely going to have to get a new computer to even run Vista, so it may be a moot point.

Your best bet would be to get Windows Vista. It has all of these features built right in.
