I am pretty sure about half of my neighbors are stealing my internet. I am going to password protect it, but I figure I might as well have a little fun with them first. Any suggestions?

Is there a program (like Outlook) that will grab mail from free accounts such as Hotmail and Yahoo? Or plugins for Outlook (2007) to do the same thing?

Hello. I accidentally upgraded my computer to IE 7 months ago and have realized this upgrade has caused my computer to be very slow, DVD player, scanner and web cam do not work anymore. I notice on the HP, etc. websites IE 7 is not compatible with most of these.

How can I revert back to the previous Internet Explorer?

I was hoping someone could give me a good answer here... thank you for looking!

I have comcast internet with the McAfee antivirus (offered with the comcast service).

This morning when i got on my computer, the antivirus program wanted to do a "fix" so i went ahead and did that.. Then it needed to update it's virus definitions, so i went ahead with that.

Afterwards, program asked me to restart. I did.

I logged back into my account, and everything on my desktop is gone (except the wallpaper).

I logged into my guest account, and that works fine (all icons and wallpaper present.

Can someone give me a clue as to how to restore my desktop? Where'd it go?

Ok, so whenever you go on the internet the temporary internet files folder will log all the site cookies. Is there anyway once the files are deleted to get them back? Or is there anyway to see where someone is going on the internet even after they've deleted all their history and cookies? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

for the past year or so, i've seen these words " -- Hacked by Godzilla" appended to the name of the website that i am viewing on internet explorer.

For example: Yahoo! Answers -- Hacked by Godzilla

Does anybody know what's going on? Is it a problem with my laptop or the server or what? Thanks.

I currently don't have Internet Explorer on my PC. I just use Mozilla. Now I downloaded Internet Explorer 7 and when I try to install it it gives an error saying that I already have Internet Explorer installed. But I don't see it anywhere, it doesn't show up on my programs or in the control panel. What shall I do?

i have comcast internet(i'm on my laptop right now)and just these past couple weeks, my internet has stopped working. the thing is that my internet will go on and off...towards dark my internet will usually go back on for a few hours and suddenly turn off again.
i've tried "powercycling"(where the pc is directly connected to the comcast cable module) already and it doesn't work.
Right now i'm using someone elses' wireless connection (we live in the middle of the woods and Comcast is the only highspeed internet available up here...
i really don't want to have to have a technician come up here.
my modem has the 'power' and 'pc' lights lit and the 'cable' light flashes while the 'data(send/recieve)' lights stay unlit...i know when the internet starts up again because the recieve light starts flashing again. any suggestions or help would be GREATLY appreciated and i'll give 10 points a thumbs up to the best answer!
please help!
thank you so much,
Celene=]

How do I switch from Firefox to Internet Explorer as my preferred search engine?

They fear us using up a great deal of bandwidth for streaming music and videos, but I just want to be able to read something! Anything! It's all blocked! With as much down time as we have, you'd think they'd be more forgiving. Select news sites were purposely left open (so please, don't respond with any "You shouldn't be reading during work anyway" advice, as they condone it and understand that we're not busy all day), but the news, despite its name, does indeed get old.

I just lost a bid on ebay item. The seller contacted me via email saying he had another just like it for sale. I wrote him back asking if it was the same one he just sold, he replied saying it was the same one, then said this in the rest of the email:
"I`ll provide you 10 days money back guarantee, no questions asked. That means within 10 working days you decide if you don't want to keep the item. In order to purchase the deal through eBay all you have to do is to send me exactly those info:
Name:
Address:
City/State:
Country:
Zip:
I need the details exactly like i have requested, because I`ll forward all the details to eBay and right after that they will contact us with all the instructions to proceed the deal, also you will receive from them instructions about the payment method."
I've heard of some ebay scams. Is this one of them or should I take advantage of the good deal he's offering me on this? PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR REALLY TALKING ABOUT. thanx
