Hi claire, I have used Picasa for the past 2 years and have found it to be almost as good as a £70 programme that I purchased, and a lot easier to use. the filehippo webbsite gives you an easy download of Picasa Try it,you wont regret it.....

the best open source software is the 'Gimp', been going quite a while, regular updates.

has been used on quite a few movies too, for matte paintings ;)
