for the past year or so, i've seen these words " -- Hacked by Godzilla" appended to the name of the website that i am viewing on internet explorer.

For example: Yahoo! Answers -- Hacked by Godzilla

Does anybody know what's going on? Is it a problem with my laptop or the server or what? Thanks.

It's just a pesky virus...

You should use your virus scanner to clear it out. Go to their website, and see if they have a "one button" cleaner for Godzilla cleanup, otherwise it;s a long manual process.

Here's the Trend Micro page with both Auto & Manual steps. http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=VBS_SOLOW.A&VSect=Sn

Make sure your viruscanner is current. If it's expired, you can get AVG or AVAST for free, and the best ones are only $30 a yr or so. http://software.toptenreviews.com/ says the best rated virus scanner is only $24.

Might also want to consider a spyware protection product too.

Good Luck
