what does clicking on the 'go to my pictures' icon on the pics found on ie6?

when i clicked it my pictures folder kinda got a new background of some sort which only appears when i refresh the folder.how do i remove it?

Assuming Windows XP (and probably works on Vista)...

Right click on an empty space in the My Picture folder
Select "Customize this folder..."
You can change or turn off the background from there.
