Does anyone know if a Dell 17" LCD flatpanel monitor would be compatible with like an Acer computer? My friend says it is and I just want to double check to spare myself the trouble of having a computer with no monitor, or having two monitors. Thanks

My home desktop computer's monitor is taking forever to display. The computer is on and is off hibernate mode, but the monitor is very, very slow to react, taking 5 -15 min or more to display after I move the mouse around. Once working, the screen display is crystal clear and without problems. I've tried changing the power scheme on the screen saver but that doesn't have an effect. The monitor is a MAG platinum series flat screen and is about 4 years old. How long should a monitor last?

I'm pretty sure its not a hardware problem as the day before they where not there my sister was the only one on the day it appeared and said it wasn't there when she was on they see to cover text and images i can read/see them its just really annoying.they go all the way across the screen and are darker with darker images or when they overlap each other never seen this before it was working fine up until my sister got off the computer and shut it down when i turned it back on they where there could this be some effect of a virus/other program?
