The best thing you can use is a glass cleaner made just for computers. Regular glass cleaner had ammonia in it and will eat the protective coating that prevents UV rays from getting out.

I've been told by manufactures as well as techs that you are not supposed to use water or any other liquid cleaners on your screen. There are special sprays and cloths that will clean it nicely without damaging the surface.

Do not use anything with anysort of solvent, your screen may have an anti-glare coating and it could be ruined. Used a moist cloth, if you need to add just a little bit of dishsoap and then rinse it of softly.

The way that I always clean my monitor is with rubbbing alcohol. Believe me, it works the best. Try that.
