It is not a very good monitor. The contrast ratio is to low, you want one that is at least 1000:1 or greater, the viewing angle is not to good either and the response time is slow (look for one in the single digits), the maximum resolution is awful also. It only has a VGA connector, no DVI, so picture sharpness will suffer, and the size is to small, you should be looking at a minimum size of at least 20". Remember, this is the one item that you will keep for the longest period of time, so do not skimp on it.

it is a faily good monitor for a PC, but if you have budget, please do not go to the older models which they will no longer be useful in the future.. over 19 inches and wide screen LCD will be more useful if you are thinking about upgrading windows vista longhorn as they have designed for wide screen applications and appearance.. the price is faily nice, but it's time to get bigger LCD for multi tasking, as well as, HD-enabled wide screen will be both useful for windows vista and future video systems (blu-ray, etc..) that simply need wide screen.

as for 12ms is actually a big delay if you are serious about video.. nowadays, you can go 4ms at very reasonable price, of course, more expensive than this model...

money wise, this deal is sweet.. technology wise, you will feel it's not worthy money to spend even it's very reasonable price, compared to the trend and future of the LCDs.

hope this helps

Decent but not great for games, the 12m speed is pretty crappy, 8ms is standards. TFTs are getting cheap, especially the 17"... haven't ever really seen a 'bad' TFT, black kinda sucks at times, but that's just part of the technology. Price is pretty good, but it's a mail-in-rebate. The price without it is mediocre, see link below.

Whatever monitor you get depends on what you want to do. The old monitors (not flat screens) are apparently still best for playing games.

I'd get it. I bought a cheap LCD monitor 3 years ago and it still works fine, although now I need a bigger one!

If you watch movies or play games you will be unhappy it is slow. Otherwise you will probably be happy with it.

Not good if you are a gamer. Get one at least 8ms or lower, and DVI.
