My home desktop computer's monitor is taking forever to display. The computer is on and is off hibernate mode, but the monitor is very, very slow to react, taking 5 -15 min or more to display after I move the mouse around. Once working, the screen display is crystal clear and without problems. I've tried changing the power scheme on the screen saver but that doesn't have an effect. The monitor is a MAG platinum series flat screen and is about 4 years old. How long should a monitor last?

The problem may not be with monitor. It may be with PC. Working with a slow computer can be time consuming as programs/ applications take a long time to start. This problem is more pronounced in computers which have been used for 6 or more months. More information at http://fixit.in/slowcomputer.html

In stead of putting up with the hesitation i would go out and buy a new monitor anyway, they are cheap now so it wont set ya back much and its better than putting up with the waiting.
