My backlight on my Toshibia laptop turns off after a minute I have changed this setting in the Power Mangement Console but it does not work the changes do appear in power options properties. I can not change the setting from the power options properties I must do it from the Power Mangement console but it is not working.

I am going to order a Dell Inspiron 1420 soon, and I am not sure what screen to get. Both anti-glare and glossy screen options are available for no additional price. The Glossy seems like it would be good for movies and such, but anti-glare would be good for outside or in a sunny room. The glossy will delay the shipment by about a week. What do you think.

For example Fn+F1 is hibernate, Fn+F2 is turn off/on wifi, Fn+F3 is battery check etc... will I still have that or will I have to install something else?

I am looking to buy a new laptop to replace my Toshiba P15. I will be using it for gaming, taking to high-school and taking notes, and doing homework. I have narrowed it down to the Toshiba x205-s9359 and the Asus G2S. If I get the Asus G2S, it will be from GenTech computer and will replace the hard drive with a Seagate 100GB 7200rpm S-ATA, adding 1gb of ram for a total of 3gb, and adding 1GB Intel Turbo Memory Card. The Toshiba I would be getting from the cheapest retailer. I am a proud supporter of Blu-Ray, so the HD-DVD drive in the Toshiba is nothing big, but I do like the TV Tuner, and the better video card with more VRAM. However, I really like the included backpack with the Asus. I would love to have any help I can get. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, I am technology oriented around an 8.

Well, I prefer the laptop/notebook to be cheap. And I prefer to pay monthly on the PC. The operating system in which I i desire is windows vista.

And what i consider cheap is $550.00 and under..

Is this webiste good to buy RAM? I see that for 2G of RAM its about under 100 bucks? That's really really cheap? Can I expect the same performance as a if I pay for $200 on a 2G of RAM?

When I turn on my notebook, sometimes, it will say that there are no networks available. However, my husband's notebook right next to it will be logged on. When it says this, it is not finding ANY networks (so I know it is not just my router not working) and there are always networks around me so I think that it is the card. Other times, it works just find and logs on as soon as it is turned on. When it is not detecting networks, I have to turn it off and back on (Not a great use of time). What should I do???

I've been having trouble capturing in final cut pro due to dropped frames every 30 seconds or so. I've looked at the apple troubleshooting page and have concluded that my harddrive must be fragmented. I'm looking into buying Disc Warrior, but in order to run Disc Warrior to fragment my harddrive it must be run from a separate drive. I only have one internal drive and the external drive I have doesn't have osX on it. Any ideas?

im off to the usa in 2 weeks and im now thinking about buying my laptop in the usa to use back here in sunny morecambe...
have got £700.00 thats a whopping big $1400 dollers :))) any advise, will i be able to use the built in wifi ? the plug will be different i know but i can change that. as long as the power pack will take 240v and not just 110v.

if you have bought one or have any advise that would be great thanks.
