When I turn on my notebook, sometimes, it will say that there are no networks available. However, my husband's notebook right next to it will be logged on. When it says this, it is not finding ANY networks (so I know it is not just my router not working) and there are always networks around me so I think that it is the card. Other times, it works just find and logs on as soon as it is turned on. When it is not detecting networks, I have to turn it off and back on (Not a great use of time). What should I do???

I have found the same problem on occasion, generally caused by portable phone or another item using the 2.4 Ghz. frequency that masks the signal.

When I had that problem, it was the wireless router.

So I don't know, since you're sure it is not the router. Does your husband's laptop use a card? If it does, the next time you are together and his is working and yours is not, try his card in your computer. If it fires up, then you know you have a defective card.

Set your WiFi router as the default Access Point on each laptop. The instructions should be in the laptop manual.
