I would recommend a HP or a Dell, depending on your budget. Dells tend to be more pricey, but by visiting their university website
http://www.delluniversity.com/
you can save $200. A lot of colleges use dells, and by purchasing one you might be able to get free IT support of something goes wrong with the laptop's hardware. I personally prefer HPs because I feel that they have well priced laptops. However, I do like dell's M1330.

Honestly, if you have no set budget, try an Apple computer. Its operating system, Mac OS X, gets absolutely no viruses. If you're new to Mac, like I am, you'll need to get some time to get used to it. It's idiot-proof... I was used to the very complicated Windows, and when I got my MacBook, I couldn't believe how easy it was! I thought it would be harder but it's actually WAY easier.

Lenova/IBM laptops are very durable and can have a range of memory, however, generally speaking this brand laptops are somewhat expensive...
What I would recommend for a more buget laptop yet durable, is HP and ACER.

I think you should get an Apple computer. Get a MacBook or a MacBook Pro. It has the best operating system and is very reliable.

Toshiba makes the best laptops. I would highly recommend a Toshiba Satellite M65-S9092. I have one, and I love it.
