DON'T (unless you have US citizenship).

With laptops it is important that you always get a warranty of at least 3 years (even if you have to pay extra) because laptops tend to cost a lot to repair if they break outside of warranty and also tend to be more likely to have problems than desktops (if you treat your laptop well it should last you 3 years without a service but the cost if it doesn't can be pretty high).

Now you might think that if you buy a laptop in the US you'll just use the international warranty if it breaks in the UK but you'd be wrong because the international warranty is for US citizens only meaning that you'd either have to ship it off to the US to be repaired for free (but you have to pay the shipping both ways) or pay to get it repaired locally. More then a few people have been burnt after buying grey market products and then when they break finding out that they aren't eligible for the a warranty.

Of course if you happen to be a dual citizen then you shouldn't need to worry about that.

Laptops from the US may be technically illegal in the UK because they might not be approved to comply with UK standards (since different markets often get slightly different products) but that's not really something that'll be enforced and the laptop would work fine anyway so don't worry about that part (the warranty is what will get you) and the adapter will not have any trouble with the 230 V @ 50 Hz electricity network in the UK (basically all laptop adapters can handle anything).

welll you might but waht ever computer you want.. the only thing is the plug.. as u mencionated.. but you can have a transformer to change it to the GB plug

mm WIFI.. it's the same in every place you are.. here in US, GB, China so don't worry

i recomend u to buy a mac book
but you know the problem is that apple is still not big enough
so you might having problems to find software for the mac book

the other option.. as everything buy a windows laptop
hp or sony are the best
so the only thing is you decide for the best one!!

Bad idea. Aside from the power issues, your warranty may not be valid in the UK. Shipping to the US for repairs isn't cheap.

Best advice is buy locally. With that much cash, you should be fine.
