Im working on a clients computer, and she is complaning that there is a little bar across her screen.

when I move the cursor over to it, its in front of the mouse! she
said that its been there a long time.
I checked for malware and spyware and everything in between, but its still there!

I m going to post a link to a screen shot here.... oh it doesnt show up on the screen shot!

Does anyone know what the hell is going on???

I'm looking for a laptop and don't know which one to get. Which company should i be leaning most towards. It would be used mostly to surf the internet (wireless) and watch dvd's, play music. I'm a little sceptical of getting a HP as my last one was &*^%).

guyz my laptop cdrom has damaged, and now i have to buy new one, but i still have a pc in which cdrom is there can i connect it via usb to my laptop. what i need is a usb wire connector. can i get usb wire connector for my pc cd-rom. plz help, or else will i have to buy a new cd-rom for my laptop.

Have found the compatible memory - I want to install a 1GB soDIMM module (looks like a card) that supposedly fits into one of two memory slots. Can I do it myself? Will it make a big change to the performance - I currently have only 256MB? What problems am I likely to run into if I try to do it? And finally - why did the guys in the shop not have a clue what I was looking for, and try to sell me an external HD?

i ve been using this laptop from past yr and a half but recently from past 2-3 months i m facing this problem tht my laptop's cooling fan in on most of the time. it stops jus for a lil while only to start again. is there a problem with my fan? i ve tried using this cooling stand but it didn't helped me.

currently i have a philips x53 laptop and sometimes i hibernate it. however, when i press the power button to switch it back on it takes ages to re-boot (like 2 mins) with my old, Hp laptop when i had hibernated it and put it back on it would re-boot in seconds. does anyone know a) why its so slow to re-boot and b) how i can speed it up.

My neighborhood is safe and all, but it is cold outside and would feel safer if I could just pick it up at the post office rather than them dropping it off on my doorstep. It requires signature so after a delivery attempt will they leave a ote on the door or something?
