They can't legally do that without you purchasing it. The version that comes on new systems is a 90 (or maybe 60) day trial. After the trail period expires you have to either enter a registration number or remove the software. Feel free to remove it...you didn't pay for it.

I assume you mean Office 2003 since there is no such thing as office 2006.

Just go to add/remove programs & uninstall the trail version of Office 2007.
Then install your full copy of Office 2003.

You can try - but Vista is so different, it is likely that it won't work.
