Sometimes, when I'm working on a few programs at once and then decide to minimise the windows open, the windows minimise in a weird way. Instead of quickly minimising down to the taskbar, they kind of slowly 'wipe' downwards, if that makes sense. I asssume this is because I have only 256MB of RAM - could this be the case? My laptop is a Pentium-M 1.6MHz system with 128MB ATI Graphics card.

My girlfriend spilled coffee on it. I was able to salvage the hard drive. A new motherboard costs almost as much as a new laptop. So now I've got this expensive paper weight and I'm wondering if I should toss it. Any suggestions for salvaging the parts or making it operational/useful in some way?

I have a Toshiba Satelite laptop with a power supply problem. It won't charge the battery or even turn on now because the battery is so run down. The charging light comes on if I hold the cord in a certain way, but any little movement and the light goes out. I thought it might be the cord so I bought a new one, but it still is doing the same thing. I am guessing that its the connection in the computer where the power supply cord plugs in. Can anyone offer some info or suggestions? Also, if I need to replace a part, could you please tell me how to remove the bottom of the computer or whatever I need to remove to get at the part. I have removed a ton of screws and I still can't get the bottom open. Also, I tried removing the battery and plugging it in... still nothing, and its getting harder and harder to get the charging light to come on for even a fraction of a second... it takes lots of wiggling and manipulating the connection.
Thanks,
Chrissy

Does any body knows when Sony would provide drivers to work with Vista? I bought Vista and after installed it then I realized that some drivers are not working! I called microsoft they would tell me that it's up to sony to provide them(drivers). So be carefull before you buy vista make sure that there is updated drivers to support it.
If sony say he would update his drivers next year then....

Lord have mercy

i'm plugged in, my battery is full, i get no warning, no message, nothing, then it just shuts off. I'm running a validated version of windows xp pro and it's up to date as far as updates go. i thought maybe it was overheating but one time it shut off just minutes after i booted it up. and right now it's been on for a few hours now and it hasn't shut off yet. I checked my power options and it's not supposed to shut down ever. if it's idle for an hour, the moniter should shut off, and after 2 hours it should go into hibernation. not just shut down after 2 minutes being idle. I thought it was a program of mine that was causing it because in the program there is an option to shut down upon completion. i figured that there may be a bug and it's making my pc shut down chaotically. but it's still doing it after i uninstalled that program.
