My Mac laptop's hard disk crashed and i need to buy another, i just want to know if i can buy any ATA 2.5" laptop hard disk.

It is possible. But, you have to buy the specific hardware that pertains to your manufaturer's, model's and system's requirements.

Now, the HDD for a Dell model DX292 may use the same DDD as yours, but what you have to do is specify the exact specs for YOUR hardware when you make the purchase.

For example: for a Lisa Apple ii, you cannot use the HDD for this model in a IMAC. They are both Apple MAC's but different comfigurations.

If you are not going to put your computer on the net then Windows is pretty good w/ PC. But if you are Go w/ Linux or a Mac because they can handle the internet better. Open Office is an alternative to office that works on anything and it is FREE. Do save as Microsoft word or Excel and it works fine for me. RJ

yes Macs and PCs use the same harddrive but macs have them installed differently, when you go to replace them, make sure you pay attention to everything thats hooked up around it or else if you forget to put it back, its not going to work. Trust i found out the hardway.
