you should turn it off imediatly after you spill something on it, take out the battery and let the laptop dry completly, it most likely wont affect you laptop if no power is running through it. if your laptop works fine after its dry then you have nothing to worry about. sometimes some of the buttons on the keybord might get sticky and some letters might not work, if that happenes then you'll only need to replace the keyboard which is about 65-120$. also most company's dont cover this unless you buy the extra accidental protection plan

If nothing has happened yet, then your computer might still be safe.

But it's best to turn it off and disconnect it from the wall (and maybe bring the battery out) and let it sit for a day without using it. This way it lets the components dry without necessarily leaving permanent damage.

If its still working then it's a good sign....but it's better to switch it off immediately to let it dry and then get a qualified technician to have a look at it.

Also, most lappy brand have coverage for these sort of incidents - you may want to check your warranty and coverage status - might just save you a couple of bucks.

May be it is true. But I dont think your laptop will be spoilt soon. Get your laptop checked by an expert or laptop engineer.
