I beg to differ, computers are incredibly complex and it is astonishing just how cheap they are these days.

You can literally pick up computers with a monitor and Windows Vista for less than $500. That is insane. In fact there is a really tiny mark up in computers, and massive competition constantly keeping the price down. Retailers and manufacturers are always fighting to offer the best price, and all the while any retailer who holds on to stock too long ends up with something obsolete that they cannot sell.

I really don't understand how you can possibly think that computers are over priced given the amazing complexity of them. The typical computer on the typical desk in America is dozens of times more powerful than anything that was available just 15 years ago, for a much lower price.

The more disk space and memory, the more expensive the PC (basically). PCs are incredibly cheap these days, the one I have now has 10 times more disk space and 4 times the RAM than my previous one and was half the price!
