Do I need to update any driver on my laptop to read a 2GB SD card?

Most likely not, assuming that your laptop is already capable of reading other SD cards. The technology behind it hasn't changed, just the storage capacity. However, if your computer doesn't have the capability to read them built in, then you may need to purchase a card reader, and that will require installing drivers.

If you plug it in using a PCMCIA adapter the Xp will recognize it as an additional HD.
