You old Laptop might be low on feature so its comming back in few seconds.

Current generation laptop have so many devices built in and there would be also more amount of programs and applications that are run during start up.

So try disabling some start up applications.

Go to start > run and type MSCONFIG. Go to start up tab and select Disable All.

Be sure to check the Antivirus and Firewall programs.

Now your system should hibernate and come back online faster.

Still need help get back to me.

If you get on the internet often and don't erase your temporary files, they will pile up and slow it down. You can erase them by
1.) Going to Start
2.) Going to All Programs
3.) Going to Accessories
4.) Going to System Tools
5.) Going to Disk Cleanup
This will give you the option of cleaning up a couple parts of your computer.

You can also run disk defragmenter which will reorganize your files to make the computer run faster. I hope this helps!
