There is no such thing as Windows XP Service Pack 3, only Service Pack 2.

The drivers for your laptop have no association with what service pack you are running. And yes there is a service pack 3, I noticed yesterday as I was updating windows it was updating something in service pack 3.

The OS (XP SP 3) you are installing doesn't have any link for the drivers of your laptop, if you will install anyother operating sysytem, even then you will have to install drivers of your laptop.
XP will just let you know that this hardware is installed on your laptop, it will install the driver for your laptop, you have to install it manually.
