you know, usually, RAM is specified by xxxMHz, xxxMB, ECC or nonECC.

bits move from the FSB, through the RAM to the CPU, right?
now, what does the frequency of the RAM(the xxxMHz that they scream about in the ads) do during the transfer.
answer specifically for DDR2 SDRAMs.
case study:
if a PC is CPU 1.6GHz Duo Centrino tech, FSB 800MHz, RAM 1.0GB, 667MHz DDR2.
the ram is the slowest, right? now, what does this 667MHz do in relation to the transfer of bits btw the CPU and the motherboard. remember it is DDR2, so it works 2x on each FSB cycle
please explain simply...
thanks.

ok, We know that RAM usually is 333MHz or 450, 667 or even 800MHz, and CPU speeds are usually 1.8GHz or 3.0GHz.

but what is the usual motherboard main speed, the FSB speed range?

Also, is the FSB the North Bridge in the Accelerated Hub Architecture?

Yesterday I asked this question:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgjpMGZUtmIZikMW78EdcQrsy6IX?qid=20070727115724AAJ3hgr

And I think I might just give it a shot. If the printer head is on the cartridge, would it really destroy my printer?

I have a canon ip1800 printer, how do I open the cartridge?

Is there anything I can do to thin the ink before adding the metallic powder?

I'm a gamer, into hard core gaming. I would like a card that can run most games maxed, but low price. Which one would you recommend? Which one is faster when it comes to great gaming. I know the 7900 has 256-bit and the 8600 has dx10 capibilities. I play games like GTR2, Obilvion, CS , HL2: EP1, all need for speed games, San andreas, DiRT, etc. I've heard that the 8600 has a memory bandwidth of 22gb/s while the 7900 has a memory bandwidth of 44 gb/s.

Which one do you think is best for me?

My husband's desktop Dell 4600 PC needs the motherboard replaced in it, is this something we can do ourselves? I had it at a technicians place, but Dell is giving him the "run-a-round" about getting the part for him. So he don't want to fix it now. How can we fix this problem, short of buying a new computer. We really can't afford a new one right now. Would a different brand motherboard work? Can we do the work ourselves? How hard is it? Any and all information would be great appreciated. Thanks and God bless. ♥

I am going to buy the E6850 chip as the price is MUCH lower than the top Quad-core chip and the performance differences are neglible. ...however, as Quad Core support games are going to be released in the next few years or so, I would hate to have to buy a new computer to take full advantage of it. Are there any motherboards that support the 1333MHz FSB and are easily upgradeable to a quad-core chip when the prices drop?

I'm a person who likes to listen to some music, look at pics and watch some movies. I definitely don't need vista on this PC so that's out of the question. I doubt I'll be using it for any gaming. I need a computer that'll be good for surfing the net. I also want to use word, excel, powerpoint and many other necessary programs. As anybody, I don't want this comuter to crash out of nowhere. I think the most memory I'll need on this computer is 40GB.

Can anybody give me an estimate on how much will this kind of PC cost me? For a bonus (higher chance for 5 points) give me a link to an exisiting PC that will fulfill my needs.

I thought I had a 350 watt psu but now I realize that I'm an idiot and only have 250 watts (not recommended for a 7950GT video card). My computer has had a few random restarts but usually overnight and not when I was actually taxing the system.

This morning I come to the computer login screen even though I hadn't restarted last night (this makes me suspect the psu). So I try to log in and then click.... off the computer goes.

Now when I try to boot up I'm only getting partial response such the led's turning on and the fan for both the heat sink and the psu.

I would like for someone to confirm my suspicions, tell me what and idiot I am for installing a 7950 on a 250 watt power supply, and maybe tell me if there's likely to be any damage to my hardware from a couple of restarts that I tried while troubleshooting.
