ok heres the deal
apple decided to put mini-dvi inputs on there comps

so i need atleast two components to connect my tv to my macbook, for watching movies, or to game on a bigger screen.

it sounds easy, but its not because apples mini-dvi to dvi thing is only 6 inches long,, and i need it to be like 6 feet long.. also i would like to use the hdmi input on my tv, because i think it will give a better picture. if you know it doesnt matter please tell me. fyi-- my tv is only a 20'', but i need good quality for gaming.
i have tried looking around on amazon for female adapters and whatnot, but its too confusing for me.

pleaseee!! someone help! i need details and places to buy the components.
thanks.

From the Apple website:

Mini-DVI video out port

Use a Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter to connect your iMac to an Apple flat-panel
display or other display that has a DVI connector. Use a Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter
to connect to an external monitor that has a VGA connector. Use a Mini-DVI to
Video Adapter for composite and S-video support to connect to a TV, VCR, or
other video device. Adapters are available at www.apple.com/store.

"aviatingamateur" is right. I use my 46" Samsung as a monitor for my black MacBook. I use a miniDVI to DVI adapter into a DVI to HDMI cable. Something else to keep in mind, if you have a PS3 already hooked up to that TV, all you would need to do would be download & install "PS3 Media Server" on your MacBook. Then you could stream any videos you have on your MacBook to your TV thru the PS3 without needing any more wires. It's sweet.

get a mini-dv to dvi adapter fom an aple store or aple store online. then get a dvi to hdmi adapter. then buy a hdmi cable and hook it up. u cannot do very much gaming if at all so it rly does not matter. just use the vga cable.
