I'm using mac from almost an year & haven't been able to find if there is a way to open a folder with keyboard on mac. We've to double click it with mouse or change view options to use it with keyboard. I've tried different key combinations but nothing worked.

If this option isn't available, can we do it manually by our key comb.

I am trying to install Ubuntu 7.04 on my Macbook under parallels. my macbook has 2GB of RAM and a 120GB HD. it is a 2GHz. When I am installing ubuntu it installs fine until it says detecting hardware and it says something about "piix", then i freezes and wont go anymore. I want to be able to install the XGL and Beryl graphics on it.

Any suggestions???

i need help in finding proper devices. ive changed vista to xp. my problem now is, ive install all hardware except for modem device because i cant find the compatible one for my laptop (compaq presario v3000). i think the modem is build in for vista. does anyone knows where can i find the hardware device? and one more, theres no sound coming out from my laptop too, ive installed the soundcard device already but still theres no sound.

Does it allow me to record my TV or (even better) from my cable box to my laptop? What is a tv card - are they on my computer already? How do I connect these things, S-video computer to cable box?

Any suggestions to help me record to my laptop? Do I need to just buy certain cables or is more needed? I have nero 7 ultra edition which should allow this.

I have a dell inspiron 1501 laptop and a dell 926 all-in-one printer/fax/copy/scanner. I also have a comcast cable modem that i use to connect to the internet. I dont have any type of land phone. is it posible that i can send and receive faxes? and if i can please tell me how or links to a website on how to do so. Like 3 days ago my computer was working fine, it was soooo fast. It had some games in it and we used the internet. Then like 2 days ago that i turned it on it took like 10 minutes to start when it would only take 30 seconds before. and when i try to open a programm it will take like 30 minutes. Also the screen got stretched, and i dont know why. It just suddenly got mega slow, and i want to fix this. Tell me if you know what caused it or if you know how to fix it/.

I bought some RAM a while back and i installed in np. but when i was taking the old one out (cuz i was going to use it on something else) the inside of the lid touched a drop of water and when i put the lid over the RAM i saw the drop of water too late, and it got right one of the black chips. so, is it dangerous to use now? since then its just been sitting around my house. in its little box. i did dry it the second i saw the water.

two questions for users of the nforce 2 chipset
1)is it really nessecary to use the chipset drivers?,i have only installled the "sm bus" as this dosent come as default in windows
2)secondly,which is the part of the chipset drivers responsible for displaying the agp notification in the nvidia control panel,without the chipset drivers(or part of it) my geforce 7600gt comes up as a p.c.i device,which of couse it isnt
any ideas guys?

Right now I can't swing the price for a new laptop. Don't need a lot of bells and whistles, just enough to run a few programs and store a few documents. Would I have to increase the RAM as well? Thanks for your help.

I have an Intellimouse that I bought a few years ago when I had an HP computer. Since I bought a Dell, the mouse has not acted right and has now gotten considerably worse. When you click, it takes it as a double, triple, etc. click, making it nearly impossible to drag & drop songs to itunes and play games. Is it just not compatible with the Dell computer? The mouse that came with the Dell has gotten destroyed so I can't just try it out. Do I need to just give in and buy a new one? The keyboard also has an annoying problem: if I hold down a button to have it continue, it does not; it only types it in the once time. I'm thinking I do not want to buy a Dell again. Any ideas?

Yesterday I was printing out some business cards, and it took like 4 hours when it usually only takes several minutes. Now it will not print at all. My father-in-law thinks that I may be out of ink, but I am not, I have more than half in each cartridge. Everything is hooked up correctly.
