I have decided on buying Intel Core 2 duo 1.8GHz E4300.
I also thought of going for Intel DG965 RY Motherboard.
But some of my friends are saying go for ASUS or MSI as Intel motherboards now adays are giving problems.
I will use it majorly for using Microsoft Office, browsing net, watching movies, copying pictures from Digital Camera and playing few small Games.
Please suggest me which mother board is best for Intel Core 2 Duo E4300. Is Intel DG965 RY good enough? I have read the specs of DG965 RY? Specs looks good. How about reliability and performance?
Is ASUS or MSI motherboard better than this at the same price range. If so, please let me know the motherboard name with model number..

I am thinking of the following case/ps combo:

Not wild about the case though.

Any other suggestions for that price range?

Does anyone know how the processor speed on a Mac translates to one on a PC? Is there a ratio or some way of determining so? I know that the processor speed on the Macs are faster than that of a PC, but not sure how it is measured.
Any ideas?

My computer requires DDR, not DDR2. It also requires PC 3200, not PC2 3200. What happens if I use PC2 and DDR2 istead of the required RAM memory?

I tried to make a "Magic Movie" earlier today and the audio kept cutting out. Also, sometimes the video image "froze". The amount of RAM is 512 MB - do I need more, or do I have a problem with my Firewire cable, or both? The computer's clock speed is 1.5 GHz, and I think the hard drive speed is 4,200 rpm, but it might be 5,200 rpm (not quite sure at this time - will check later). Any help? I'm trying to make a basic music video, and no sound = this ain't right! Help!!! Thanks!!!

Forgot - all programs other than the video recording program were closed.

I actually know how to build a computer as far as connecting everything and placing everything in and what will work. I just.... I don't know how to explain it. When it's put together, there's no software on it right. And sometimes some hardware like a motherboard has a driver with it on a disc. So my question is how would you put that software on it if it really has no software on it at all? And an OS. Like windows XP/Vista.

I wanted to delete my temp files. I went to find internet options and was afraid to delete the cookies. XP used to have an option to delete temp files. I checked to see how many files there were and I noticed that some of the last modified are from 1994 up to when I got this new comp.. can someone explain why? Does this mean I did not get new computer? Totally confused. Thanks for any suggestions. Laptop is running slow also.
