I need a really good laptop. Im trying to spend the least amount of money, seeing as i will be moving to new york in the fall. Please help! I really do NOT want a dell. They break and their customer service sucks! Thanks!

averatec laptops are good as are the apple macbooks. the macbook definitely has a ease-of-use and cool factor. if you're a student you might get a discount, albeit small, on the macbook.
I have a macbook and love it. It's my main computer, I don't desktop at all anymore. I have a friend that has an older mac laptop and had to call apple care a couple of times, and they've been somewhat helpful. in NYC, you'll probably be near enough to a apple store that you could go there if you have problems.

Well, I bought a quality brand laptop at a decent price from a website I found while shopping around. http://www.better-shop.com . You may have to request a specific brand, but they will do there best to find it for ya. Good luck.
