They are the same thing.

LCD - Liquid Crystal Display. Uses the polarization properties of liquid crystal material along with a bright light and filters to produce an image.

TFT - Thin Film Transistor. This is a type of transistor that can be put down on amorphous silicon. It can be made virtually transparent so it is ideal in the control circuits for active LCD displays.

So a LCD flat panel monitor uses TFTs to drive it. They are the same thing.

LCD is best and the difference is in the resolution, and sharpness of your picture.
