If the new motherboard is identical or at least the chipsets are identical, usually it should work immediately.

depends how drastic you change things... but usually no. You will, however, need to reinstall a ton of drivers for your PCI hardware. And the BIOS needs some tinkering more often than not. Be prepared though.. and find someone who's got a software key or a keygen.

no, but be prepared to go on a search for drivers. I've done something similar........pulled a drive from one system and put it in another system.........the OS found about 50 new devices.....that's normal.

on first boot, your system will find a whole bunch of new hardware.........some that it may not find a driver for and you will need to go to the system board manufacturer for the drivers.

Not usually. Unless it is a vendor computer... Dell, HP, and so on... If it is not a custom setup...you just might.
