I'm using Windows XP - what happens is I turn on the computer and it begins to load, but then the computer will shut down and restart itself. I can't even get to my desktop. The thing I see different is on the first screen that comes up when I turn on the computer, it says something along the lines of "Primary Master" and "Primary Slave" followed by numbers, and it shuts down shortly after. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Well, the windows on my monitor seem to be shifted to the right. Like the "X" button and scroll bar are not on the screen. Plus part of the time on the start bar isnt showing. I've tried adjusting it, but it still looks akward. I have a 17" flat screen monitor if the helps any.

So like my CPU is more than a couple of years old... n it makes quite a lot of Noise n heats up.....
Is it advisable PRACTICALLY speaking to get a new one or just chnage the fan and increase the RAM?
Do CPUs have like a life limit, or shud i just rework this one and continue using it?

I just bought a new laptop and it came pre-installed with windows vista, but vista is a memory hog and I was wondering how I can uninstall windows vista and install windows xp. I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 laptop if that helps.

In a nutshell, the C drive on my Toshiba laptop is full (there really is no more I can delete from it - it's the regular, very necessary anti-virus/anti-spyware updates that have filled it). But, I have an external hard drive of 250Gb attached to this pc with 213GB free, and so, I want to know what/how I can use that space to run my pc. In short, I want to try to set up that external drive as my MAIN drive, if possible.

Any advice folks please?

Would you recommend one? Were you pleased with your purchase? How long do you expect to keep it for? What would you say to someone transferring from a PC Laptop? Any other tips/info/suggestions etc? Is the iLife suite overated or is it fact that it is effiecient and usable?

THE ERROR CODE IS 7" microsoft website says the solution is the reset the bios to default or the cause maybe faulty ram, tried both,, still having same error. I need some help picking out a laptop for college...I want a good value but I don't want something cheap. I need wireless internet, something pretty fast, a decent amount of memory, preferably a CD-RW drive and DVD drive, and good battery life. I'm going to major in computer science so I figure a good laptop will be pretty handy.

I was thinking about getting a Dell, but I thought I should ask around. If anyone has a specific model that would be great.

I have acquired a new printer its hp deskjet970cxi i do not have a disk but have plugged it in and the wizard found hardware and addrd it. but when i try and print it just chucks loads of sheets of paper with a few odd letters here and there they make no sense at all it keeps going till all the paper is used.
