I'm thinking of changing my internal floppy drive for a zip 250 drive as i havn't used the floppy drive for years now and i'm fed up with my external one cluttering up the desk. I know the Bios detects the floppy drive on start-up and you can still boot up from a floppy disk so, how will this be effected and will i need to change anything in the Bios before i install the new drive? And will this setup wor with Windows XP?

Should I be carefull about leaving my laptop computer in subzero temps for a long time (hours at a time). I wondre if its okay in my car for a few hours at subzero temps. I havn't done this yet, but I was wodering if I need to avoid this.

That's right. I got really stupid and looked at porn. Half an hour of the stupid drug and my computer slows down. Now I learned my mistake, and thans to my stupidity, the comouter is slower than usual.

I finally put a pron watcher on my PC so I can't have any access to it anymore, thankfully. But now I have an issue, the memory is too low on m cpu. How can I fix that? Do I have to buy something, ownload something to repair, or upgrade?

Please help, thank you.

Hey guys. Basically, im having problems with my sound. I have got my speakers connected up, and my speakers work fine. I came back from school today, and there was no sound coming out of the speakers. I believe my speakers are fine, all the connections are ok, and the blue light that indicates the speakers are on, is on. Is there anything you guys can suggest to me that i may do. For example, is there anything i could do on control panel. I could really do with the help. Many Thanks.

I'm not very smart when it comes to computers. I have a computer that has windows xp home edition with no Reformat disk. My computer has a system restore option on it, but there is a virus (I think) that wont let me restore my computer. I am convinced that my computer has many viruses on it, for example I can set my homepage, and it even wont let me set my desktop (wallpaper) and it restarts by it-self, and there is more but getting back to my question. Can I just buy a New version of Windows XP, and erase my Memory on my computer /w all those nasty viruses and load the New XP, and that should take care of the problem if thats even possible to do that? PLEASE I NEED HELP AND I CANT AFFORD A NEW COMPUTER!!!!

My Dell desktop does not have a cd burner, but I do have nearly 6000 pictures on it. I have been very lucky that nothing has happened to it yet. I want to know the best way to protect all my photos and free up some space on my computer. I am leaning more towards an external cd burner so that I can save the photos to diff. albums on diff. disks vs having one place to store them all (like an ext. hard drive) in case something should happen. Thanks! Any info is appreciated.

Interested in getting a Mac Mini for my wife - our return to Mac after many years. I want to get a starter computer that can later be used as a 2nd machine but is strong enough to be the primary one right now. Lots of Music and photos. Minis come with Core Duo - but not Core 2 Duo - Is that an issue? and no graphics card so I'd get at least 1GB RAM since it uses that - but other than that - what do you think?

I'm looking to build my own gaming computer.

The only things I do know I want are: A dual core processor, lots of ram, and a kickass tower.

What I need to know is what video card I should buy? Should I go all out on the new geforce 8800 series or wait? If i get an ok video card now, will i be able to put the 8800 series ones in my motherboard? And if so, what will do for now? So I need a mother board that will support future upgrades, (the motherboard to me is the most confusing part.)

Also, if I get a dual core, either AMD or Intel, will a 2.2ghz x2 processor play a game that needs like 3.1ghz. Anyone have any experience with this?
