Interested in getting a Mac Mini for my wife - our return to Mac after many years. I want to get a starter computer that can later be used as a 2nd machine but is strong enough to be the primary one right now. Lots of Music and photos. Minis come with Core Duo - but not Core 2 Duo - Is that an issue? and no graphics card so I'd get at least 1GB RAM since it uses that - but other than that - what do you think?

It All depends on how much monet you want to spend really - being a mac user since 1984 I have seen them all - I would consider getting the flat screen imac - after all if you buy the mini you still have to buy a screen a video adaptor keyboard and mouse - if you work out the difference in price for all this, and bear in mind the imac has built in Camera / Bluetooth / Speakers/ Microphone and more expansion ports as well you will see why its a much better buy - The mini is OK Tho I have installed a few in my time.
It's down to money really

Its worth it if you've got all the stuff for a switch up to a Mac, but not if you don't have all the other peripherals.
I was looking into buying a cheap desktop system and I heavily considered Mac mini's because of all the options they have, but the price of accessories and software eventually lead me to go with something else.

The mini will be a great computer for what you need. Getting at least 1GB of memory is a good idea. I don't know the difference between the processors but what it has will do fine.

which you tube convert component I heard is solid. do no longer DO LIMEWIRE!! It crashed my pc. by way of fact of that stupid website, my mom does not believe something and that i won't be able to acquire music... So do no longer do Limewire, it extremely is stupid and evil.
