most all the answers are correct with the filters. the reasons behind the noise is that DSL run through your phone lines at such a high freq. which causes problems with the lower ones, such as your phone. when you got your DSL kit there should have been 3 filters. they would of looked like a small usally whitished color box with a phone pig tail sticking out one end and on the box a place to plug a phone line into.you'll need atleast 2 of these filters pluged in before your phone. do not plug them in the line that leads to your DSL modum, only thoses lines that have a phone on them.

in maximum circumstances dsl is what reasons the humming . the telephone co. ought to have given you filters to guard you from this.additionally examine to confirm which you have not got the wires reversed (a normal mistake) particularly circumstances you will discover moisture in one or greater of the telephone jacks. in case you open the community interface you need to work out a telephone connection, plug a telephone into it , if it truly works the difficulty is interior the homestead wiring if it would not call the telephone employer cuz its their difficulty. if those steps do no longer help, maximum telephone businesses furnish a line secure practices plan for some money a month and the guard the subject concerns at no charge as long as you have the secure practices plan. stable luck.

If you installed DSL, you must install the filters at each telephone device connected to the phone line in your home. It is not enough to put the filter solely on the phone outlet for the DSL modem.

If you still have the buzz after putting the filter on the line, then there will be another problem as well.
Put the filter on first.
If still a problem, call the phone company.

Not only do you need filters on your phone sockets but you also need filters on any thing connected to the phone line i.e. burgular alarms or the phone connection to a sky box. Hope you can sort this.

Is this your landline? If so it's because you don't have an ADSL filter installed (a plug thing that goes into your phone socket and your phone and modem connect to that instead) If you do have one of those and it still does that, than i suggest that you should replace it with a new one.

You need to make sure that all extension outlets for your phones in the house have an adsl filter in them... even if they don't wire in to broadband.
All extensions in house require an adsl filter. Very cheap to buy.
